This Lavender Honey Cheesecake is my own creation.
I first made this cheesecake for July 4th. I’m usually responsible for bringing the desserts to our family celebrations, and I had no idea what I wanted to bring for the holiday.
A few years ago, I planted lavender in my front garden and noticed it was blooming beautifully.
When I cooked in a professional kitchen, our pastry chef would make desserts with lavender, a pretty atypical herb for cooking.
This made me think that I might like to make a lavender dessert of some kind – but what?
I had just bought a couple gourmet cheesecakes from a small local business for my sister’s bachelorette party, and they were amazing!
I had always been intimidated by making my own from-scratch cheesecake – it always seemed so difficult – but those delicious cheesecakes really made me want to try my own.
So I baked my cheesecake and took it to our holiday picnic. My whole family loved my dessert, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make!
This Lavender Honey Cheesecake contains fresh lavender flowers and leaves for a light, fragrant hint of lavender flavor.
You can harvest flowers from your own lavender plants in the summertime, or you can buy Organic Culinary Grade Lavender Flowers online here.
These cheesecake also has two layers of filling.
The first layer is made up of sweet and dense cheesecake, which is baked and topped with a second, light and fluffy layer made with sour cream for a lightly sweetened and slightly tart layer that cuts the sweetness of the cheesecake and graham cracker crust.
I’ve had people who love sweet treats (I’m included here) and others who really don’t like overly sweetened desserts (like my sister) all tell me they really loved this cheesecake.
It’s the best of both worlds with the creamy, sweet cheesecake layer and the slightly tart sour cream layer. This cheesecake recipe is a total crowd pleaser!
Tiramisu is one of my very favorite desserts, and, of course, these classic tiramisu flavors also taste fantastic in cheesecake form!
If you love coffee desserts, this cheesecake is for you! For more café inspired cheesecakes, keep scrolling!
Salted caramel is one of the most popular flavors right now, and I am definitely on board!

Who doesn’t love Samoa Girl Scout cookies? They are definitely one of my favorites.
This simple vanilla cheesecake has an Oreo crust and is topped with caramel, coconut, and chocolate for an irresistible treat!
Nutella is so amazingly delicious!! I’ll never forget when I first tasted it. I was a very young girl, and a foreign exchange student friend from Germany gave our family a jar of the most decadent chocolate hazelnut spread we had ever tasted!
If you were around in the ’80s, you know Nutella was not available in regular grocery stores then, so it was many, many years until I tasted it again.
I just can’t believe I remember that first experience because I know I was very, very little at the time.
If you love Nutella as much as I do (think eating with a spoon!), you need to make this decadent, creamy Nutella cheesecake – talk about bliss!
This cheesecake is an easy no-bake recipe for those days when you just don’t want to deal with the oven.
I actually like no-bake cheesecakes a lot, even though I think regular cheesecakes are easy enough to make.
No bakes are even easier – almost effortless even – and they still taste amazing!
This recipe uses mascarpone cheese, instead of the normal cream cheese, mixed with heavy cream and dark chocolate chips.
She also recommends using Digestive Biscuits for the crust, which I totally agree with. I love Digestive Biscuits, especially the ones with chocolate, and I think they would make a perfect crust for this cheesecake!
PRO TIP: When making a no-bake cheesecake, make sure to figure cooling the cheesecake in the refrigerator for hours into the prep time!
It’s really best to prepare a no-bake cheesecake the day before an event to ensure it has enough time to cool and set in the fridge.

Hello, my name is Sarah, and I’m a coffee-holic. Seriously. I’ve been drinking coffee since I was born.

I know they look almost the same, but there are some key differences that may matter, depending on the Sarah Blooms Reader and the occasion.
